How we help insurance
Insurers and loss adjusters engage us to locate claimants, third parties and witnesses who have become uncontactable, and to conduct factual investigation and surveillance where a claim requires evidence. All work is carried out by licensed investigators and documented so it can be relied on.
The problems we are usually called about
The claimant has gone quiet
A claim cannot be assessed, settled or closed because the claimant is no longer contactable at the details on file.
A third party cannot be located
Recovery or subrogation is blocked because the party at fault cannot be found.
A witness has moved on
The account of a key witness is needed, and the contact details are from the date of the incident.
The claim does not add up
Circumstances warrant factual investigation or surveillance before the claim is accepted.
Evidence has to survive scrutiny
Material that cannot be explained by the person who obtained it is of no use at the point it matters.
Privacy exposure sits with you
Information obtained improperly by a supplier does not stay the supplier's problem.
What we do for you
Locating claimants
Re-establishing contact where a claimant has moved or stopped responding mid-claim.
Third-party and recovery location
Finding the party at fault so recovery or subrogation can proceed.
Witness location
Tracing witnesses whose details date from the incident itself.
Factual investigation
Establishing the circumstances of a claim through enquiry and field attendance.
Surveillance
Observation where a claim warrants it, conducted lawfully and documented properly.
Address and occupancy verification
Confirming whether a person genuinely resides where they have stated.
The real question
Will the evidence be admissible — and does obtaining it expose us?
Both questions have the same answer: it depends on who obtained it and how. Surveillance material gathered without regard to lawful vantage, continuity, or contemporaneous recording is frequently worthless when it is finally tested — and worse, obtaining it improperly transfers exposure to the insurer who commissioned it.
Our field work is conducted by licensed investigators, from lawful positions, recorded contemporaneously with times and locations, and reported factually — including what was not observed. Surveillance device legislation differs between states and restricts what may be recorded and how; where a proposed method is not permitted in a jurisdiction, we say so rather than doing it.
We also report against the instruction, not against the hoped-for outcome. If the observations do not support the concern that prompted the engagement, that is what the report will say.

Insurance — frequently asked questions
Is surveillance legal for insurance claims in Australia?
Surveillance conducted by licensed investigators from lawful vantage points, for a legitimate purpose, is lawful. Surveillance device and listening device legislation differs between states and restricts what may be recorded and how. We work within those requirements and will advise where a proposed method is not permitted.
Will your material be usable if the claim is disputed?
Where it has been lawfully obtained and properly recorded, yes. Continuity and contemporaneous notes matter as much as the footage itself, which is why both are standard parts of the engagement.
How is surveillance priced?
Hourly, from $100 per hour. Because duration drives cost, scope and expected hours are agreed before an agent attends, and we check in rather than accumulating time silently.
Can you simply confirm whether someone lives at an address?
Yes — a field call is usually sufficient and is substantially cheaper than surveillance. We will recommend it where surveillance is not warranted.
Do you work in regional areas?
Yes, across metropolitan and regional Australia. Travel time and distance are factored into the quote upfront.
What if the observations do not support the claim concern?
That is what the report will say. We report factually against the instruction, including what was not observed.
How do you handle claimant personal information?
Information is collected only as necessary for the engagement, used only for that purpose, and held securely in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Can you locate a claimant who has left the state?
Yes. We operate Australia-wide, so an interstate move does not require a separate agent or engagement.
